Sometimes their combination differ, so in that case always follow your Guru Parampara. Bhairav of Baglamuki and Dhoomavti also differ. I have seen Krodh Bhairav with Dhoomavati also, it is also said that Dhoomavati Mahavidya doesn't have any Bhairav. Without considering Bhairav, Upasana of Mahavidya doesn't work. In advance stage of Mahavidya Sadhana not only Bhairav but all the Ang Devta (located in the Yantra) of a Mahavidya are also worshipped.
Initially, Guru, Ganpati, Bhairav and Mahavidya are worshipped, as Sadhana increases more of Ang Devta of a Mahavidya are being included. Whatever work is there, all is done by Ang Devtas. a Devi remains like a Queen.
