Vaman Dwadashi Vrat & Puja

This festival is celebrated on Bhadon Sudi Dwadashi, this day lord Vamana (Vishnu Avatar) is worshiped by Panchopchar or Shodashopachara Puja. And in bhoga, ५२ पेड़े चढ़ाये जाते हैं। इसके बाद चीनी (या गुड़ , शक्कर), चावल तथा दही दान में दिया जाता है। इसी दिन व्रत रखकर शाम को उसका उद्यापन भी कर सकते हैं।

उद्यापन में गरीब या साधु संतो को खाना खिलाना चाहिए तथा उनकी जरुरत का सामान भी देना चाहिए जैसे कमण्डल, माला, चिमटा, आसान, धोती, धार्मिक ग्रन्थ इत्यादि।

As Sheshnag and Lakshmi also live with lord Vishnu, they shouldn’t be left behind. After Vishnu worship, Lakshmi and Sheshnag should be worshiped. Lakshmi is good for prosperity (attracting money) and Sheshnag is for protection.

Vishnu is a Satvik (सात्विक) God, he doesn’t like non-veg food — so his devotees should avoid these kinds of food, at least this day. For Vishnu happiness, one can also opt for serving stray cows (by feeding them and taking care of their health).

Essential Nyas For A Sadhak To Do Everyday

Nyas means to establish something (Devi / Devta energy) in our body: it purifies our body and makes our body and mind worthy of chanting a mantra / stotra. A Sadhak should do भूत-शुद्धि, बहिर्मातृका न्यास, अन्तर्मातृका न्यास, and षोढा-न्यास daily, 'coz we worship Devta by becoming a Devta, and in that Nyas helps us a lot. In every mantra generally many kinds of Nyas are given prior to chanting a mantra, they are usually shorter and doesn't take much time. They are essential and shouldn't be skipped.
