Story

Sun is a king and Moon is a queen.

Sun rules on constellation Simha (Leo). As Simha is word for Lion, the king needs the best, and other than a Lion nothing suits to a king.

Moons rules on constellation Kark (Cancer). As queen is emotional, she loves Kark for her taste.

Now others start asking favors from the king and queen.

Mercury that is expert in communication goes first and asks for king’s daughter (Virgo) and a servant (Gemini). The king and queen happily give him, thus Mercury becomes the lord / ruler of Virgo and Gemini.

Venus (Shukra) is a kind of person whose desires for business never fulfill. So watching Mercury got something from the king and queen, he also goes. And asks for a scale (Libra तुला) and Taurus for pulling his cart. In earlier times people used scales for measurement and animals for transportation. So Venus becomes the lord / ruler of Libra and Taurus.

Mars, an action oriented war loving person also goes, and asks for Scorpio (to bite his enemy) and Aries (in earlier times people in war used sharp-edged armor on animals head to hit the enemy, and Aries energetic and fast, suited him well); so Mars became the lord / ruler of Scorpio and Aries.

Jupiter the wisest one, is a great shooter as well; like in Mahabharata Arjuna pierced a moving fish by shooting an arrow from his bow — he also asks for a fish (Pisces) and arrow & bow (Sagittarius), and becomes the lord / ruler of them.

Saturn lives at far away place but knows everything. As he needs to travel far and wide, he often feel thirsty and tired — he asks for a pot (Kumbh, that is Aquarius) for carrying water, and a pet (Makar, that is Capricorn) for his amusement. Thus he becomes the lord / ruler of Aquarius and Capricorn.

Essential Nyas For A Sadhak To Do Everyday

Nyas means to establish something (Devi / Devta energy) in our body: it purifies our body and makes our body and mind worthy of chanting a mantra / stotra. A Sadhak should do भूत-शुद्धि, बहिर्मातृका न्यास, अन्तर्मातृका न्यास, and षोढा-न्यास daily, 'coz we worship Devta by becoming a Devta, and in that Nyas helps us a lot. In every mantra generally many kinds of Nyas are given prior to chanting a mantra, they are usually shorter and doesn't take much time. They are essential and shouldn't be skipped. These भूत-शुद्धि, बहिर्मातृका न्यास, अन्तर्मातृका न्यास, and षोढा-न्यास take comparatively longer time duration. भूत-शुद्धि means purification of five elements in our body, that is Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jal), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), and Ether (Aakash). बहिर्मातृका Nyas and अन्तर्मातृका Nyas, establish "energy of our VarnMala" in our body-parts and in our chakras respectively. षोढा-न्यास is of two types Lagu Shoda Nyas and Maha Shoda Nyas.
