Yogis sleep less than the normal men, 'coz 1) they don't waste their energy like us and, 2) they preserve lots of energy while doing meditation(dhyan) most-of-the-time.
Thing is, our Pranic Body (Pranamaya Kosha) always creates energy; this energy leaks out through our eyes, fingers of hands and feet, head (crown chakra) -- it leaks or say emanates continuously, majorly from these parts. Also we waste our energy by doing work (mental / physical / emotional) and also by short-and-irregular breathing patterns. Level of energy wastage is directly proportionate to the level of our stress (physical / mental / emotional).
What happens in sleep! It happens that we just preserve our energy by closing our eyes, switching off mind and sense organs and take rest in that -- thus major part of energy is saved. And this is the energy which charges us, we feel charged (invigorated) in the morning.
