Planetary Relationships

For a beginner in Jyotish (Astrology), it is hard to remember “friends, neutrals, and enemies” of a certain planet. This story may help in memorizing them.

Sun (Surya)

Sun and Moon are husband and wife (also king and queen), Mars is their son, Jupiter is their guru (Dev Guru)— that’s why Sun’s friends are Moon, Mars and Jupiter. Mercury is the Sun’s “doot or say guptachar” (both are Hindi words for messenger and secret-agent) — that’s why Sun is neutral with Mercury. Venus is the guru of Rakshasa (not Dev Guru); and rays of Sun removes darkness, Saturn is dark — that’s why Sun’s enemies are Venus and Saturn.

Moon (Chandra)

As son is the most favorite to a king; here this queen’s (Moon’s) favorites are his husband and that secret-agent (that helps her to know many things, including the activities of her son Mars, and Dev Guru Jupiter). That is Moon’s friends are Sun and Mercury. And neutral with her son Mars, Jupiter (Dev Guru), Venus (Rakshasa Guru), and Saturn (the black one). In fact she is so beautiful, she’s no enemies.

Mars (Mangal)

Mars is the son of Sun and Moon, with his parents he also loves Dev Guru — that’s why Mars’s friends are Sun, Moon and Jupiter. Mars is so brave and cunning that his father’s enemies turn neutral for him — that is, Mars is neutral with Venus and Saturn. Father loves his son, Mars; but queen keeps an eye on his son by the secret-agent, Mercury — and Mars hates this; so Mars’s enemy is Mercury.

Jupiter (Brahaspati)

Dev Guru loves king, queen and their son — that is Jupiter’s friends are Sun, Moon and Mars. Saturn, enemy of the king lives near Jupiter in distance; Jupiter doesn’t treat him like an enemy ‘coz if he attacks Jupiter, there is nobody to save him, king lives far away — that’s why Jupiter is neutral with Saturn. Like Mars, queen also keeps an eye on Jupiter by the secret-agent, Mercury; and Venus is the Rakshasa Guru (and Jupiter doesn’t want to learn anything from Jupiter) — that’s why Jupiter’s enemies are Mercury and Venus.

Mercury (Budh)

As mercury is the secret-agent, he likes to be friend with powerful ones; and he thinks Sun and Venus both are powerful, ‘coz Sun is the king and Venus the Rakshasa Guru knows many tantric ways to become powerful quickly. So Mercury’s friends are Sun and Venus. Mercury doesn’t want bad relationship with Mars, Jupiter and Saturn — ‘coz they are powerful as well and can grasp his throat any time; so Mercury is neutral with Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. As queen (Moon) considers Mercury her friend, he in reverse considers Moon his enemy ‘coz he thinks a queen is not that powerful as he always wanted powerful people around him. So Mercury’s enemy is — Moon.

Venus (Sukra)

What a Rakshasa Guru wants, he wants an agent to spread his message to the people like Saturn — so he could establish Rakshasas in the whole universe. That’s why Venus’s friends are Mercury and Saturn. As Jupiter considers Venus his enemy; Venus don’t consider Jupiter his enemy, as he wants to learn many things from Jupiter; and Venus also don’t consider Mars his enemy as he wants to take Mars to his side — So Venus is neutral with Jupiter and Mars. As Venus wants to establish the influence of Rakshasas everywhere, he considers Sun and Moon his enemy (‘coz they aren’t Rakshasas), the king and queen. Venus’s enemies are Sun and Moon.

Saturn (Shani)

As Venus likes Saturn, and send messages to Saturn through Mercury. Saturn’s friends are Mercury and Venus. Like Venus, Saturn is also neutral with Jupiter, as he also wants to learn many things from Jupiter. And as Venus wants Mars to be his side, Saturn doesn’t want it, so along with parents Saturn considers their son to be an enemy. So Saturn’s enemies are Sun, Moon and Mars.

In sum up -

Sun (Planet): | Moon, Mars, Jupiter (Friends) | Mercury (Neutral) | Venus, Saturn (Enemies)

Golden Rule Of Three Years To Get Success

Give yourself completely to whatever you like for three years -- let it be your career, business, health or any other thing of life. Why three years, exactly? Because what is the advantage of sticking to something which isn't giving any result. Time is precious, don't waste if the results aren't coming. Why not less than three years? If we spread these three years for success, we can assume first year is dominated by getting knowledge of the field, second year dominated by execution, and the third year comes the maturity where knowledge and experience of execution strike for success.  As an exeption we can stretch these three years into five or six years -- only when there are uncontrollable issues like of health or circumstantial issues.

108 Names Of Shri Surya From Mahabharata

Surya (Sun) is the most important planet as well as a deity. Worshiping Surya increases prana-shakti (life-force), it rays destroy many diseases and it is the biggest source of never ending energy. There is a Strota, called Surya-Kavach, it is chanted for protection, as a deity his protection is very strong — remember the case of Karna in Mahabharata, he was invincible due to Surya-Kavach. This Surya-Kavach wasn’t as it is shown in movies, it was a Mantrik protection which Karna had and on Indra request he promised not to use it in the war. We take note of popular deities, but Surya as a deity is not lesser than others — though there are less Sanskrit literature on Surya (as I know), but whatever it is, like Surya Kavach and Aditya Hriday Strota, I think, is very potent. Essential Nyas For A Sadhak To Do Everyday

Nyas means to establish something (Devi / Devta energy) in our body: it purifies our body and makes our body and mind worthy of chanting a mantra / stotra. A Sadhak should do भूत-शुद्धि, बहिर्मातृका न्यास, अन्तर्मातृका न्यास, and षोढा-न्यास daily, 'coz we worship Devta by becoming a Devta, and in that Nyas helps us a lot. In every mantra generally many kinds of Nyas are given prior to chanting a mantra, they are usually shorter and doesn't take much time. They are essential and shouldn't be skipped. These  भूत-शुद्धि, बहिर्मातृका न्यास, अन्तर्मातृका न्यास, and षोढा-न्यास take comparatively longer time duration.  भूत-शुद्धि means purification of five elements in our body, that is Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jal), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), and Ether (Aakash). बहिर्मातृका Nyas and अन्तर्मातृका Nyas, establish  "energy of our VarnMala" in our body-parts and in our chakras respectively.   षोढा-न्यास is of two types Lagu Shoda Nyas and Maha Shoda Nyas.

18 Types Of Puja (Worship) Acc. To Fetkarini Tantra

Puja enhances our devotion to our Deity, and it is not an expensive affair we can learn to do it ourselves. Puja makes our heart-center (Air element) stronger, as our devotion increases it is bound to be happen. It is written in Fetkarini Tantra, about 18 kinds of worship (Puja). I think during Navratri, Holi, Deepawali (Lakshmi), Ganesh Chaturthi, MahaShivRatri and during all major festivals, Panchopachar Puja isn't sufficient one should go for either Shodosopchar Puja (16 types) or below 18 types of Puja. Try to do this in Navratri or at the time of Ganesh Chaturthi, because during these two festivals most of the Hindu do Murti Visarjan (point 18).
