This Vrat & Puja of Parama Ekadashi is observed on Purushottama Krishna Paksh Ekadashi, many times Purushottama Mas is called Mal Mas. This day, lord Vishnu is worshiped by dhoop, deep, naivedya, gandh, pusp, chandan, itra, and other bhogas. Puja should be ended by Aarti and Pradakshina (Parikrama).
Observing Vrat and donating money and health checkups to the poor is also considered good. This Ekadashi is known for money, means people who are in poverty, should celebrated this festival to attract riches in their lives — as it is clear by the following Katha.
Parama Ekadashi Vrat Katha For Getting Rich
Once a man and woman lived in poverty. They were so poor, often they slept with empty stomach — their survival was just dependent on begging. Once Muni Kaundilya happened to visit their home, out of their condition he felt mercy on them and told them a way out of their poverty — it was to do Vrat and Puja on Parama Ekadashi (on Purushottama Krishna Paksha Ekadashi).
Muni Kaundilya also told them that due to this Ekadashi, Kuber became rich and king Harishchandra got his lost kingdom and prosperity back. Since that time this festival is celebrated. One who observes this Vrat is supposed to get prosperity in one’s life.
