A carpenter knew that his friend, a weaver is in one-sided-love with a princess. She used to live at top of the palace that was heavily protected by guards. If carpenter did not think up a plan, weaver would die without the princess — so carpenter told the weaver to meet the princess in the disguise of lord Vishnu, in this form the princess would surely love him.
As Vishnu rides on a bird, called garuda. The carpenter made a mechanical bird, on which the weaver could sit and fly to reach anywhere in the sky.
One night, weaver turned himself in Vishnu, rode on the bird and reached at top of the palace where the princess lived, privately. At the sight, princess fell to the Vishnu’s feet, she couldn’t believe that lord himself appeared for her. She was ready to give anything for the lord. He asked to marry her, how could she say no? They did Gandharva marriage (by just mutual agreement of a man and woman), since that time weaver in the form of Vishnu went daily at night to meet the princess; and they played husband and wife.
Somehow guards got the smell that the princess started seeing a man; they informed the king and queen — they took the details from their daughter. And became very pleased as their daughter was wedded to lord Vishnu, god himself.
King felt himself powerful ‘coz now his son-in-law was god. So he started insulting other kings and invited a battle. A king with mighty army, attacked his capital. King went to meet his daughter and said, “When lord Vishnu comes from Vaikunta at night, tell him about the battle and we need his help.” When weaver came at night riding on the mechanical bird, the princess told him everything; he made the princess believed that he would kill the enemy-king and returned before dawn.
The weaver was restless, how would he fight? He would be killed. If he didn’t fight, the enemy-king would kill his father-in-law and take away his beautiful wife with him — in this case, there was death too, 'coz he would have lost his love. After lots of thinking he decided to fight in the form of Vishnu, sitting on that mechanical bird, garuda.
Real Vishnu knew everything that what was going to happen in the earth. And other divine beings suggested him — if the fake Vishnu died in the war, nobody would worship him; 'coz people didn't recognize fake Vishnu was real fake.
Real Vishnu decided to help him: part of him entered in fake Vishu; part of Sudarshan Chakra entered in fake Sudarshan Chakra; part of real garuda entered in mechanical bird.
At the time when armies was about to attack on each other, fake Vishnu appeared in the sky — he used Sudarshana Chakra and the enemy-king was killed on the spot.
Learning: if you are well determined, god comes to help you.
