Five Historical Reason To Celebrate Diwali

 Every Hindu festival has some reasons or history behind it, so here are few reasons, why people celebrate Diwali in India.

# First reason: This day, lord Vishnu sent Asur Bali to Patala Loka. Bali was a great Vishnu Bhakta, knowingly he gave away everything to lord Vishnu and went to Patala. This made Indra happy, who thought his arch-enemy was Bali; and to celebrate this, Indra and his people celebrate Diwali.

# Second reason: This day Lakshmi ji appeared out of Samudra Manthan, and opted lord Vishnu as her husband — that’s why people celebrate Diwali.

# Third reason: This day lord Rama returned to his palace after killing Ravana, who had kidnapped his wife Sita. That’s why people celebrate Diwali.

# Fourth reason: This day, king Vikramaditya started his Samvat (संवत); with scholars he decided that New Samvat would begin from Chaitra Sudi Pratipada.

# Fifth reason: This day, Maharshi Dayananda got Nirvana, he was the founder of Arya Samaj. That’s why people of Arya Samaj celebrate this day.

Other reasons to celebrate Diwali

# Cleanliness: This time people clean and decorate their home and office, and put the garbage out.

# Get-together: Out of busy schedule, people get the chance to meet almost all the people — as they go to each other home to distribute sweets.

# Tantra: Diwali is an important time to do Tantric Sadhna, to energize (awaken) Shabar Mantras and to get other kind of Siddhis.
