# Second reason: This day Lakshmi ji appeared out of Samudra Manthan, and opted lord Vishnu as her husband — that’s why people celebrate Diwali.
# Third reason: This day lord Rama returned to his palace after killing Ravana, who had kidnapped his wife Sita. That’s why people celebrate Diwali.
# Fourth reason: This day, king Vikramaditya started his Samvat (संवत); with scholars he decided that New Samvat would begin from Chaitra Sudi Pratipada.
# Fifth reason: This day, Maharshi Dayananda got Nirvana, he was the founder of Arya Samaj. That’s why people of Arya Samaj celebrate this day.
