Dhatri or Aamal is said to the same thing “Aamla (आमला),” it is kind of a sour fruit in taste, known worldwide for its ayurvedic properties. It is said, lord Narayan lives in Aamla, that’s why its tree is worshiped on Falgun Sudi Ekadashi.
This day, eating Amla and donating Amla is considered a sacred act which pleases lord Narayan. Also one should worship Amla tree by Dhoop, Deep, Roli, Chandan, Flowers and Rice; poor people or children should be fed under this tree. As number of trees are decreasing day by day, this day, one can think about planting more and more Amla trees.
